BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles, has announced a strategic partnership with DLL, a global asset finance company for equipment and technology, to provide comprehensive financing solutions for BYD’s electric trucks and buses across Europe. Under this new agreement, DLL will serve as BYD’s strategic partner for retail financing and dealer stock financing as part of BYD's broader European expansion plan, with operations launching in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Ireland, Poland, and the United Kingdom, with financing solutions set to extend across the wider European region in the future.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in BYD’s mission to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission commercial transport in Europe. By combining BYD’s industry-leading electric vehicle technology with DLL’s deep financial expertise, the collaboration will help make the transition to cleaner fleets more accessible and cost-effective for operators across the region.
“Electric buses and trucks are a key element of BYD’s unique, multi-faceted push towards electric mobility in Europe,” said Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD. “Partnering with DLL will ensure our customers have access to flexible financing options, making the shift to lower-emission fleets easier and more affordable. This collaboration reinforces our long-term commitment to supporting Europe’s green transformation, especially in the public transport and commercial vehicle sectors.”
“This partnership with BYD represents a major step forward in our eMobility strategy,” says Mike Kinka, President of DLL’s Construction, Transportation, and Industrial business. “By becoming BYD’s strategic partner for trucks, buses and forklift trucks, we are helping accelerate the adoption of sustainable transport solutions across Europe, pro-actively supporting the transition to reduced emissions fleets.”
BYD is a global leader in eMobility and a pioneer in electric commercial transportation. In Europe, BYD is already the market leader in electric buses, supported by established manufacturing facilities. More than 8,000 BYD ebuses are in operation or on order in over 160 cities. The company is now expanding its presence in the European commercial vehicle market with the introduction of its electric truck range, offered through both direct sales and a growing dealer network. To enhance after-sales support, BYD has also opened its first dedicated Battery Service Centre in the UK, a state-of-the-art facility designed to service and repair batteries for both commercial and passenger vehicles, including complex repairs beyond standard service capabilities.
Through this strengthened cooperation, BYD and DLL are jointly committed to enhancing financial service efficiency, offering customers more convenient and flexible pathways to adopt electric buses and trucks.
Looking ahead, BYD is committed to building a comprehensive financing ecosystem with well-established partners in Europe that addresses the full spectrum of market needs — from dealer network support and sustainable transport financing to tailored mobility solutions for fleet operators. This partnership with DLL represents an important step toward that broader vision.
Together, the two companies aim to accelerate the transition toward greener mobility across Europe and support the region’s journey toward a low-carbon, zero-emission future.
