Through pioneering innovation in sustainable transportation, which includes a diverse eTruck range, BYD brings world-leading technology and more than 29 years of power battery development expertise. As part of its efforts to reduce its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, CEVA is increasing the presence of alternative fuel and electric vehicles across its ground operations. The four new BYD trucks will be incorporated into CEVA’s existing Ground operations in the Netherlands.
EVs play key role in CEVA’s near-term decarbonization levers
Alternative fuel and electric vehicles are one of the three main pillars in CEVA’s near-term strategy to achieve its long-term target of net zero by 2050. In addition to adding more electric trucks, like those from BYD, CEVA Logistics is actively working to improve the environmental performance of its approximately 1,000 global warehouses, with aggressive targets for solar panels, LED lighting, and the use of low carbon electricity. Additionally, the logistics provider is working with carrier partners to create low carbon solutions for the transport it purchases on behalf of its customers, accounting for 95 percent of its carbon footprint.

The BYD ETH8 eTrucks that will be delivered to CEVA are well-suited to freight logistics services and tailored to European requirements. The 19T trucks combine the versatility of a multipurpose platform with advanced eTruck technology, as well as a practical range of 250km and convenient fast charging. BYD is the only NEV producer to have developed its own powertrain systems, power batteries, automotive semiconductors, motors and motor controller systems. The BYD ETH8 benefits from the deeply integrated BYD eTruck platform, incorporating revolutionary technology. It utilizes an innovative 5-in-1 controller for optimum performance and energy efficiency, as well as quicker and easier maintenance to minimize downtime.
