BYD unveils new 12-metre 'bus of the future' at Busworld Europe 2019
With significant fleet deliveries continuing in 2019 and a rapidly filling order book into 2020, BYD Europe is at Busworld Europe in Brussels this week having consolidated its position this year as the market leading eBus manufacturer in Europe.
Heading-up the BYD stand is the company’s latest upgraded 12-metre eBus model – the bus of the future – featuring a range of enhancements to benefit operators and passengers, including a new appearance, an enhanced passenger experience, a new air conditioning system, ‘6 in 1’ integrated controller and a range of safety options. BYD is also showcasing its popular 8.7-metre electric midi-bus on its Busworld stand.

BYD Europe is also promoting its pure-electric, ‘total transport solution’ capability including energy management, solar panels, charging infrastructure, electric forklift and warehouse equipment; and soon for the European market, a BYD eTruck range of 100% emissions-free, pure-electric commercial vehicles.
Since its relatively recent arrival into the European market in 1998, BYD has enjoyed remarkable success with its range of 100% emissions-free, pure-electric bus and coach models. BYD remains the market leader for eBus sales in Europe – with almost 1,000 units sold to-date, yielding a top notch in the electric bus market. Earlier this year, BYD delivered its 50,000th globally-produced eBus to Spanish public transport operator, TUBASA in Badajoz.

While BYD Europe is at Busworld to showcase its latest product developments, the company’s presence in Europe is more than simply supplying eBuses. BYD Europe has the skill, expertise and resources to provide a total operating solution, including charging and energy storage, and the delivery of fleet management support while vehicles are in service.
With its two manufacturing facilities in Komarom, Hungary, and Beauvais in France, BYD Europe is also entering into partnerships with a number of small business and other organisations in order to better deliver tailored solutions for its customers in individual European countries.
“We’re building strong relationships,” added Isbrand Ho, “with student programmes, start-ups and local businesses which, collectively, is creating jobs throughout the supply chain. We are truly a European company, building eBus products to European specifications for European operators, and providing electric mobility solutions right across the continent.”
